Raju Chakraborty was born in a musical family in 1972 in the district of North 24 Parganas. He was initiated to sitar by his fathers and later on by Ashim Mitra.

After that, He has been learning sitar for the last 30 years as a sincere disciple of the renowned sitarist Pandint Manilal Nag of the
Bishnupur Garana.

Awarded with the State Music Award in 1995, He has played in several recitals & conferences over the world since then. He has been playing over Europe in his last tour in 2019

Actually, He lives at Kolkata and teaches students of 10 countries over the world.
